Robbie Brown
Board Member

Robbie (he/him) has lived in Oakland since 2012 and adores the East Bay. Robbie grew up near Modesto, CA where he started his work in queer activism by establishing the Central Valley's first Gay Straight Alliance at his local High School. Robbie has since worked towards collaborating artistically with as many queer people as possible, believing that art, activism, and volunteer service work are the key to happiness. He has been involved with many grassroots queer projects and believes anything is possible with a D.I.Y. attitude, including co-founding a feminist+queer record label & recording studio where he helped empower queer musicians to learn how to record and self-produce their own music and has worked as a booker and promoter for gay clubs and musicians. He has been in many bands including his current project, Beaus & Eros. Robbie is also currently the editor and producer of 2 zines, one focusing on queer substance abuse and recovery and one focusing on queer geek culture. He also does volunteer work for the recovery community of queer addicts and alcoholics.

Robbie is an organizer for the Bay Area Queer Zine Festival and a core member of Comikake, a group of queer comic book artists who produce comic anthologies featuring LGBTQ artists. He is involved in the gaymer community and hosts a monthly game night at the Oakland LGBTQ Community Center every 4th Friday.
